I used this as part of a home skinning project.
The product itself is excellent, but be aware that the lengths quoted appear to be stretched lengths, so the length you get will be less than you expect (ie a metre will only actually be a fraction of a metre if used over 20mm tubing).
I really struggled to open this up to 21mm (everything got a bit messy and I am tempted to redo everything at some point in the future), so go for a size slightly wider than you think you need based on the quoted figures.
Other than the 'technically correct to the point of being misleading' figures quoted, this is a great product and I will probably purchase again (in a larger size!)
Reply: Hi Chris, I'm glad you liked the material but I'm dissapointed you find the lengths quoted missleading. We use the same measurement that the manufacturers use when measuring the braid, that is with the fibre orientation at 45 degrees, which should be half way between 'fully stretched' and fully contracted; it is quite fluid though (as you'll now have seen) and so it can easily appear shorted or longer than expected depending on how much it's opened up. I'll make sure that we're sticking to the 45 degree alignment when measuring the braid, if you're ever in any doubt about anything we supply please get in touch and we'll sort it out.
